Thousand Oaks Neighborhood News
Winter 2019
Greetings!
Welcome to the Winter edition of the Thousand Oaks Neighborhood Newsletter! We hope you have had a wonderful holiday season and are staying warm during these crazy winter months.
In this edition of the newsletter, you will receive information from our various Thousand Oaks HOA committees, community news and all the events that the Thousand Oaks HOA has coming up.
Committee Updates
Architectural Control Commiittee
To receive approval for exterior paint, fencing and any additional structural change to your property, please contact HOA.thousandoaks@gmail.com and a member of the Architectural Committee will be in touch with you. Please give the committee at least 2 business days to obtain approval. Additional information may be required.
Grounds Maintenance Committee
The Grounds Committee is working with our newly contracted landscaping company to finalize details for all mowing, trimming, planter beds, and irrigation in the commons areas. New areas along Thousand Oaks Drive south to the River Road entrance have been added to the ongoing maintenance plans. Our contractor will be managing the flower beds at the entrances and roundabouts, so we're discussing options to enhance/update these areas as well as timing, which will be determined in some part by the weather.
Pool/Tennis Courts//Playground/Clubhouse Committee
The Clubhouse is booking up quickly for Spring events.
To make reservations or for questions about the clubhouse, please send an email to thousandoakspools@gmail.com.
Social Committee
No new updates.
Street Lights Committee
We understand there are several areas of streetlights out in the neighborhood. Streetlight crews are working as quickly as possible to complete these repairs. Unfortunately, the weather has understandably created challenges. In addition, AT&T is working with us to complete repairs in specific areas that resulted from the significant work they have done in the neighborhood.
In regards to Forest and 63rd streets, our new contractor is fixing numerous faults that were located in these areas. These issues stem from our previous contractor as well as the AT&T work being done. Our new contractor is also retrofitting those posts with LED lighting capability as they complete the repairs. You will notice the 'pink' sodium lights disappearing.
As a reminder, please use our streetlight reporting system to report all streetlights out. Click here http://tinyurl.com/y2xvucbb for the reporting form and click here http://tinyurl.com/y6ssa3wm to determine the number of the streetlight you are referring to. Thank you!

Solicitation For White Glove Service - AT&T
The TO HOA Board was recently approached by Mike Chappell, with AT&T. The Board does not endorse this service, but is sharing Mr. Chappell's offer of assistance to TO residents for informational purposes. He has provided a number of service calls in the neighborhood concerning poor internet service, and is offering TO residents what his company refers to as "white glove service." He's willing to work with residents in-person to provide information about AT&T's internet service that is clear and convenient, without the need to deal with a store or call center.
Those interested can reach out to Mr. Chappell at 913.563.0433, or by email at Stephan.M.Chappell@att.com.
