Weekly Update - Extra News

Spring Into Reading

Spring into Reading is a school wide reading program, sponsored by our Tudor PTA, that starts Monday, February 3rd. Your child will be bringing home a weekly reading log for 4 weeks, for every 10 minutes your child reads at home, color in a box, and send the form back to school on Friday signed so your child can earn a free book. Each student can earn up to 4 free books and three class prizes just for reading. Encourage your child to read every night!

5th and 6th Grade Human Growth and Development Preview

Dear Families of Tudor 5th and 6th Grade Students,

Beginning in February and continuing through March, the 5th grades will be studying The Great Body Shop units called “Growing Up” and “About Blood and HIV,” and the 6th grades will be studying “The Reproductive System” and “HIV/AIDS: What You Need to Know Now” as part of the Anchorage School District’s approved health curriculum.

If you wish to see any part of the units in advance, an information preview opportunity is scheduled for Tuesday, February 11th 3:45-4:15 PM in room 25, where units and any supplemental materials will be available for viewing.

If you chose for your child to not participate in this health unit when you registered your child for school this year, they will go to another room and have an alternative health assignment on the dates these units are presented in Health class.

Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
