HFRCS Newsletter SY2021-2022
November 23, 2021 - Vol.1 Issue 14
From the Principal's Office
Dear Parents and Guardians,
In this season of thanking God for all our blessings, I begin by thanking YOU, our Holy Family family, for the many ways you have truly blessed us this past week!
Friday evening’s Powder Puff game was an extremely special event. It was heartwarming to watch our community come together for the good of one of our own. What began as an idea from some of our 8th grade students, evolved into a true act of love from everyone involved. Special thanks go to our 7th and 8th grade girls who played, the 8th grade boys who coached or served on the sidelines, Monsignor McCormac who prayed the opening prayer, Grace Bilardo who sang the National Anthem, our H&S who sold tickets for two raffles, our 8th grade parents who helped with admission, raffles, and food for the concession stand, St. John the Evangelist Parish for their unbelievable generosity in supporting our event, our faculty, especially Mrs. Konen and our referee, Mr. Perry, and everyone who attended and supported the game, especially the guest of honor Danica, and her parents. Together, we accomplished much good, and for that, I am especially grateful.
Yesterday, we concluded a Thanksgiving Food Drive that again, exceeded all expectations. We were able to provide full Thanksgiving dinners to our parish communities and to local food banks to provide for those in need. In addition to all our students and families, a special thank you goes to the Luna family and Douglas Pharma US INC and Douglas Pharma Ltd. for their generous contributions to our food drive. We were able to fill 36 bags with everything for a complete Thanksgiving dinner and provide turkeys or gift certificates for each dinner. Thank you for helping us to care for others!
Today was the culminating event for the school Hawk Walk -the incentive for meeting our 30K goal! The Turkey Bowl had our faculty competing against the 8th grade in a friendly flag football game. While it was a hard-fought match, I am pleased to say that the Faculty has come up victorious! Congratulations! And thank you for a great Hawk Walk 2021!
Tomorrow is an 11:30 early dismissal day with no bus transportation at dismissal for Bensalem and Bristol Township. There is also no after school CARES. Classes resume on Tuesday, November 30.
I want to wish all our school students and families a most blessed Thanksgiving holiday!
Sincerely Yours in Christ,
Mrs. Haggerty

The Giving Tuesday Challenge:
Giving Tuesday is a global movement of giving which takes place on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. This year, Giving Tuesday is on Tuesday, November 30th.
What is the Giving Tuesday Challenge?
When you donate, $12, in this our 12th year as a regional school, your gift will have an immediate impact in an area of great need. This year, donate $12 to help purchase an early childhood playground in the rear of the school, or support technology upgrades in the middle school. You can always give to what means most to you.
Donate $12 on Giving Tuesday through the outlet easiest for you: Facebook, the school website, the QR code, send a check or cash into school (in an envelope marked "Giving Tuesday"). Please make a gift today and have an impact every day.
If your organization has a United Way Campaign, and you would like to designate your gift to HFR, the United Way designation code is 51525
