Thursday, Sept. 29, 6:30pm-8:00 pm at Prairie View Elementary

Can parents really reduce stress and gain more time by using the Power of Positive Parenting? Yes they can! This Seminar will be provided by Iris Cortes, Parent Liaison and Emily Herriott, Triple P Coordinator. Those who attend will learn strategies to create a positive learning environment at home, use assertive discipline with their children and how to better take care of themselves as parents or caregivers. This event is open to the public and child care will be offered.

A musical treat from our friend!

What Are We Up To In Room 545?

Reading

We will be identifying text features and how they help us to understand informational text. We will be using a variety of books and articles to explore these informational texts as well.

Writing

We have some great personal narratives and students are excited to share these with others. We will be presenting them on Monday in class but will students will also share them with you during Student-Parent-Teacher Conferences next month!

Math

Students have started to have conversations about multiplication and why it is important. Our new unit focuses on multiplication and division strategies and how we can use these skills in our real lives. This is such an important unit for them as it will be a foundation for the larger multiplication and division skills in the future units.
