The Viking View - Families
March 1st
From the desk of Principal Williams
We hope you all are well at home. There has been so much happening here at Steele Lane. We have a new office manager. Lizbeth Angeles Hernandez started today and is off to a great site. Also Daisy Roman is our new Family Engagement Facilitator, and Adam Bates will be our new Restorative Specialist. I am excited for these new additions and changes for our school community.
We are also moving forward with the return to in-person learning. Our office staff has been calling and will continue to finish tomorrow with any families that we have not confirmed a learning option. It is important for us to confirm with you so we can finalize our classroom rosters. Please see the letter below in both Spanish and English that I sent home last Thursday via Parent Square.
Lastly, It is extremely important that you get connected with the Parent Portal and Parent Square to receive all information coming from our school and district. Please look in the section below for Parent Resources regarding these.
With much gratitude,
Mrs. Williams

From our Music Teacher Ms. Barron
Hello All!
I am writing to let you know that there are bags for your students with a recorder (an instrument) and packets. Each bag has your child's name on it.
Please come pick that up because I want to start teaching them how to play this fun instrument by next week.
The bags are in a box with Mrs Sapp's or Mrs Klosevitz’s name on it. Some of you have already picked one up from Mrs Dean's and Mr Mensch’s classes, but if you haven't yet, please come get the bag!
If your child already owns one or is using one that was already at home, you still need to come to school to pick up the packet we will be using.
Thanks in advance for helping your child succeed in music class.
First Graders
Hello everyone!
I am the Music teacher at Steele Lane Elementary School.
Thank you for helping your child become music makers by having picked up the bags with musical notes in them.
Now they are ready to go even further in their musical adventures.
There are boxes with bags of instruments for each child in first grade. They are near the front door of the school.
Please help them remember to keep the instruments in the bag when we are not using them in class, or only take them out if they are doing a music assignment in SeeSaw.
I want to start using them next week, March 4, 2021.
Thanks in advance for supporting your child's music making.
