Second Grade News
Week of March 19-23
Reading/Language Arts
At the end of the week, we played different games from various countries and then compared and contrasted the games to games we play in the USA. This was a fun way to practice using our comparing and contrasting skills and then writing about it.
Math
We raced toy cars and then created a pictograph from the data we collected. Since everyone's graphs were different, we took turns looking at our classmates' graphs and asking questions and making statements that match their graphs.
Fun Activities
Hoops for Hearts: The kids did an AWESOME job of jumping for and raising awareness for heart health.
Leprechauns: Last weekend was St. Patrick's Day and the kids were anxious to see whether the Leprechauns had visited their traps. They did! However, no Leprechauns were caught. Maybe we will have better luck next year!
