Reflectons From the Principals
All,
Happy Easter! We hope this week has allowed you to establish some sort of "normalcy" in reaching out and connecting with your students. We know this new type of "school" is challenging for all and we appreciate all of the extra work you are putting in for all kids. As the days continue, do not hesitate to reach out to us for anything you may need. We are here to help and support you through this difficult time.
This week there are a couple of changes to our meal program. Breakfast will be added to our lunches this week and an evening drop off time has been added for families working during the day. In addition, we are also distributing backpacks of food to our students who participate in the backpack food program. Students in the backpack program who have signed up for lunches will receive their backpacks of food when they pick up their breakfast/lunch. Those students who normally receive a backpack and did not sign up for breakfast/lunch will have their backpacks delivered to their home. This has been a team effort of administrators, Amanda Froedge, Mike McCullum from Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene, and Jason Davis and Derrick Jackson from Sterling Christian Church. Mrs. Britton also put together a "Social Emotional Learning" information sheet of supports and we have put one in every backpack. We appreciate everyone who has contributed to this effort and hope it helps our students next week!
Take time for yourself and stay healthy!

Bits and Bytes, Mr. Cunningham #TECH
A couple of days ago Google released a new feature that allows you to add a link for a Google Meet directly on your Google Classroom page. For teachers that are already using Google Classroom, this would make conducting a Google Meet with students much, much simpler.
While I can't say if this is better than Zoom or specifically recommend which you should use, I wanted to make everyone aware of the new feature that Google released, in case staff members might find it helpful.
I've made a Google Slides presentation showing how to use this new feature.

If you have any further questions, just let me know!
Thanks!

A Social/Emotional Learning information sheet was put in each backpack of food being sent out to students in the backpack program this week. Thank you, Mrs. Britton!
