Arrival and Dismissal Changes
Beginning March 21, 2022
Letter from the Principal
Dear Celebration Families:
With our increased number of walkers and car riders this school year, traffic and student safety during arrival and dismissal times has become a concern. After consultation with parents and community members on our SAC Committee, the Osceola Sheriff’s department, the CDD, and the Osceola School District, we have decided to implement changes to our arrival and dismissal procedures effective Monday, March 21, 2022. While we understand that changes during the year are difficult, we feel that they are necessary to keep our students safe.
On Monday, March 21, 2022, the Campus Street walker gate will be closed during both arrival and dismissal times. We will move all walkers and bike riders to the Mulberry gate. This will give us four entry and exit points for students: the bus ramp, Campus Street car riders, the gym car riders, and the Mulberry Gate for walkers and bike riders. This change will allow for additional supervision of students and will provide law enforcement with one area of focus to ensure adherence to traffic laws.
The attached document outlines all changes being made. Please review carefully as there are additional changes to car rider lines that may affect your family. These changes include how and where siblings will be picked up and changes to VPK dismissal.
Working with the CDD, we are requesting additional road patrols during arrival and dismissal to help with traffic flow and to monitor our school zones for speeding. Initially, you can expect delays as we work together to create safer arrival and dismissal procedures for our students. While these changes may require some patience, the safety of our Celebration children are worth it.
Thank you for your patience as we all work together to keep our children safe!
