Crisis: The two towns of Jasper

The crisis within the film of The Two Towns of Jasper was the brutal killing of James Byrd. The reason this was such a crisis is because James Byrd was a black man that was killed by three white men. This affected the community by starting a bigger dispute between the two races and then in the end making then closer.

Crisis: James Brown

The crisis that involved James Brown was the death of Martin Luther King Jr. His death caused a crisis that effected cities everywhere. James Brown was an example of healing the shock that shocked all blacks. His music expressed the feelings of people who were stunned by the crisis of Martin Luther King Jr.'s death.

Martin Luther King and James Brown

The day MLK died tragedy struck the city of Boston. When the city heard the news of MLK's assassination riots had sparked and the city was roaring in anger. During the time of the riots there was a man who spoke for the people, that man was James Brown. After MLK's death James Brown had a concert scheduled at the Garden. If it had not been canceled all of the people that were attending his concert would have caused and outrageous riot leading to mayhem. The concert was cancelled by Mayor White. White convinced public television station WGBH to carry the concert on short notice, but convincing James Brown took some doing. Due to a non-compete agreement relating to an upcoming televised concert, Brown stood to lose roughly $60,000 if his Boston show were televised. Ever the savvy businessman, James Brown made his financial needs known to Mayor White, who made the very wise decision to meet them.

The Two Towns of Jasper

The two towns of Jasper was involved in an incident occurring in there town on June 7th, 1998. The incident that occurred was the killing of James Byrd Jr. Byrd's murderers were three white men Shawn Berry, Lawrence Russell Brewer, and John King. These three men dragged Byrd for three miles behind a pick-up truck along an asphalt road.

Community leaders prevent crisis's from happening. Leaders like Walter Diggles prevent crisis's from happening by getting the law involved if neccesssary and to make everything well.
