Sneak Peek of the Week!
Hello,
We've enjoyed a fantastic week full of celebration with our Winter Carnival, as well as Pi Day fun! Thank you to all who contributed to the success of these fun and educational days!
Tomorrow is a Professional Development Day, and students will not have school, so please accept our weekly update just a little early!
Friday March 17
-St. Patrick's Day!
-PD Day, No School for students!
Saturday March 18
-Good luck to St. Mary's 5 teams who will be competing at Destination Imagination!
Monday March 20
-It's the first day of SPRING!
- Term 3 Options begin for Junior High! Options include Agriculture, Band and Outdoor Ed!
- Scholastic Bookfair begins! The bookfair is the main fundraiser for our library, and helps put resources directly into your child's hands! Each class will have the opportunity to browse, and the bookfair will be open daily during lunch time for students to make purchases.
Tuesday March 21
-JPII Open House/ Parent Night! All grade 6+ students and their parent/ guardians are welcome to attend JPII's open house night! They'll be welcoming St. Mary's students at 6:00pm, and the general open house begins at 7:30pm.
-Scholastic Bookfair open at lunchtime!
-Our grade 6 will once again be hosting a lunch hour canteen, with all proceeds going to their year end trip! See info below, including an easy pre-order slip for elementary students to pre-order on Tuesday morning to skip the line up!! This week's specials are Cinnamon buns $2.00, Sun Chips $1.00 and Hot Rods $1.00.
Wednesday March 22
-Parent Teacher Interviews will be running from 4:00-7:00pm. Parent/ guardians are welcome to book an appointment time through our Sign Up Genius found here:

Please select your teacher from the tabs along the top, and then select the time you'd like to book your appointment.
-The Bookfair will be open at lunch time, and also during Parent Teacher Interviews for your browsing and shopping enjoyment!
-Our grade 6 class will be running a reverse bottle drive and encourage you to bring any bottles you may be willing to donate to their cause to PTI's to be collected as they continue to raise funds for their year end trip.
Thursday March 23
-Parent Teacher Interviews continue from 4:00-7:00pm. The bookfair will again be open during PTI's, and grade 6 will be collecting for their reverse bottle drive.
Friday March 24
-Just a great day to have a great day!
Families of grade 4-9 students at St. Mary's should be receiving an access code for the Assurance Survey through mail from the Alberta Government. Please take a few moments to complete this survey to give feedback on your child's education. If you need support or clarification when answering the questions in the Assurance Survey, please don't hesitate to contact us. We're here to help!
All Junior High Options Fees for Term 1 & 2, Skiing Fees as well as current PreK and K+ Fees are now due. Fees are payable online through PowerSchool Parent Portal (Mrs. Nelson can help if you need), or in the office.

PTI's will be happening on Wednesday and Thursday from 4-7pm each day. Please sign up for a time with your child's teacher by choosing their name from the tab along the top, and then selecting your time. Contact the office if you need assistance.

Water Bottles Required Our Water Bottle Filler and fountains are open for students to stay hydrated throughout the day, Please ensure that ALL students have their own personal water bottle at the school every day. | Nut Aware School At St. Mary's we have many students with many different allergies, some of which can be life threatening. As such, we ask that students do NOT bring any type of peanut or tree nut products. | Outdoor Gear We embrace winter, and we are active and outside every day! Please ensure that students come with appropriate outdoor gear, including a winter jacket, ski pants, mitts and toque as well as weather appropriate footwear. If you need assistance in acquiring winter gear, please contact the office. We can help! |
