Scholastic Book Fair (10/03 - 10/07)
The book fair will take place Monday, October 3 - Friday, October 7, 2022, from 8:30 AM - 3:15 PM at the EBCA Library. Students will visit the library with their class on a scheduled day and time. This year, Scholastic is introducing a new way to pay through an eWallet - your child's digital payment account. Click HERE to get started with eWallet!

EBCA Jog for the Cure (10/14)
On Friday, October 14th, EBCA will be having our 11th annual Race for the Cure Jog-A-Thon. We are trying to raise as much money as possible to donate to the Susan G. Komen foundation for breast cancer research and EBCA Wildcat Athletics/student body. The rules and regulations for the event are as follows:
- Each student who brings in $5 will receive a pink EBCA Jog for the Cure wristband
- Each student who brings in $10 will receive a free mile run pass
- The top 3 fundraisers in the whole school will receive a trophy.
The Jog-A-Thon will take place on the field at EBCA behind the 4th-6th grade classrooms. Students will also be allowed to wear as much pink on Friday, October 14th only.
All spectators and visitors must check in with the office before entering the school campus.

Fresno State Super Saturday (For 6th Grade Families & Up)
Fresno State Super Saturday African American College and Career Summit
Super Saturday is scheduled for October 15, 2022. The summit will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Satellite Student Union, will center on accessing resources, networking and collaboration to address college readiness, retention and graduation from a post-secondary institution. This year's event will target African American 6th grade students, middle school, high school and community college students from across the Central Valley. Students and families will be engaged about their preparation for post-secondary education, receive inspirational messages, win raffle prizes, and be invited to the Super Saturday Tailgate Experience including a Fresno State Homecoming Football game!

Picture Day (10/17)
Fresno State's Feria de Educación
Attend Fresno State's Feria de Educación! Taking place on Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the East Side Lawn of the Fresno State Satellite Student Union. The purpose of Feria de Educación is to empower thousands of Spanish-speaking parents and students by providing them with information and resources to help them succeed in California’s educational system, attend post-secondary education, and attain their professional goals. Feria de Educación is a community fair held for students and their parents to participate in workshops held in Spanish. The workshops provide information and community resources that support college readiness.
Red Ribbon Week (10/24 - 10/28)
October 24th - October 28th is Red Ribbon Week at EBCA! Red Ribbon Week is the oldest and largest drug prevention campaign in the nation. This year’s theme is “Celebrate Life, Live Drug Free”. Friday, October 28th is the day of our Annual Red Ribbon Rally. Each day during this week will feature a different theme against drugs. Students and teachers can wear the following apparel on the designated days to remind themselves and others of the daily drug-free theme. Refer to the flyer and letter below for themes and more information.
Students not participating in theme-day apparel will abide by the standard dress code policy for EBCA.
Parent Workshops
We invite all parents and guardians to attend Parent Workshops hosted by the Fresno County Superintendent of Schools Parent Services.

Halloween (10/31)
Students who opt to wear a Halloween costume must abide by the rules below:
- Costumes may not have parts that interfere with learning. This means no masks or costumes that restrict movement or vision and prevent sitting at desks.
- Costumes may not be violent or suggestive.
- Costumes may not promote violence or have accessories or props that could be used as a weapon.
- Masks are not permitted.
- No bare midriffs or “revealing” clothing
- Appropriate shoes must be worn, etc.
- Costumes cannot promote the use of drugs, alcohol, or weapons of any kind.
- No pretend “prop” weapons such as water pistols, knives, or swords.
- Costumes may not be offensive or inappropriate in any way. Students should not wear costumes that make fun of others or make others feel uncomfortable.
Students who decide not to participate are to abide by the standard dress code policy for EBCA.
