SUPER RAFFLE!
THANK YOU for the incredible efforts on the part of all of our families this year.
For this first drawing, 25 of our families turned in at least 6 of their tickets to qualify!
A big, heart-felt round of applause to all of our incredible families!!!
The next drawing will be on Wednesday, October 11th. We will be awarding three, $500
Tuition Vouchers to any families who have sold all of their tickets by then! Good Luck!
- The ticket schedule has filled up: there is currently 1 spot left, so if you are interested, please contact the office ASAP.
- PLEASE turn tickets in as you sell them. There is a lot of behind the scenes bookkeeping that happens, and it is easier for everyone if we are able to do the work as we go.
Thank you all for your consideration!
High School - Student Skills Tutorials
A new school year is underway, and to help our students make the most of the educational opportunities which lie before them, Mr. Duchaney will conduct a series of Student Skills tutorials to help SMS high school students work, study and learn more effectively.
The series will begin Monday, September 25th and be given from 8:30 - 8:45 during the morning homeroom period. Among the topics treated will be: organization skills, time management, note taking, and study techniques.
In addition, students will learn tips to help them to better think, read and write. By strengthening these fundamental student skills in the early weeks of the new academic year, we hope to help each student make the most of his/her SMS education and reach his/her personal best.

!!!!Food Program Update!!!!
As you know, last week the Vermont Agency of Education cancelled our AMP (Afterschool Meal Program). We were very sad to lose this important program, but remain committed to providing access to food for our students and families here at the school.
The Silver Lining:
Our community is a vibrant and caring one. YOU all are the bright spot in this moment. A huge THANK YOU to our families who responded with kindness, compassion, and generous food donations. We will have a "wish list" of food items soon for anyone who would like to donate!
The REALLY GOOD NEWS:
Beginning Tuesday, September 25, 2017, we have been authorized to begin serving breakfast to all of our students!!
It will be a bagged breakfast, available to students to grab and take to before care or the classroom. The cost will be $2.25 for students and $2.50 for adults. This program is part of the Free and Reduced Lunch Program, so families who qualify for this program will receive the same discount on Breakfast as they do for Lunch.
How to order: Please let your homeroom teacher know the day before that you would like to order (i.e., order on Monday for Tuesday morning). A menu will be forthcoming.
IMPORTANT Weekly Reminders:
- Free & Reduced Lunch applications: Please apply! If you applied last year, you still need to re-apply this year to continue benefits. Additionally , this impacts funding for other programs in the school. Even if you do not intend to participate in the program, please apply!
- We need your paperwork! If you have not already turned in your Student Paperwork for 2017-2018, please do so ASAP. It is essential that we know the best ways to contact you during the day.
- ParentsWeb for 2017/18 is now active! If you need your login information, or have any questions, please check out our website or give the office a call!
