Bonsall Bear News
Week of 9/27-10/1
Dear BES families,
Please check out the "Reminders" section below for important information. There are some new items for your to review.
This week, I had conversations with some families regarding how we, as a staff, share information with students regarding Covid-19 when students are sick or have to quarantine. I have found that the discussion of Covid-19 is a sensitive one and something that I personally feel is best discussed within the family unit. While some families are comfortable having open and serious discussions, others are not. I completely respect each family's specific decision and therefore am leaving what is shared and discussed surrounding Covid-19 in the hands of the student's family. Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter.

*Please be sure to call in your student's absences each day with the reason for the absence.
*Please DO NOT park in the red loading/unloading zone that is designated for our students who ride the bus.
*You MUST have an ID in order for the office to release your student to you or whomever is picking them up. That person must also be on Aeries as an emergency contact. I know that this has not been past practice, but safety is at the forefront of our school community. We have a new office staff that is not familiar with every face associated to each student. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
*Please note, you may not take videos or pictures of any child that is not yours. This includes video taping your child on the kindergarten playground before school. Please be mindful and respectful of other people's children.
*The kindergarten gate closes at 7:55 a.m. If you arrive to the kinder gate after that time, you are required to drop your child off at the front of the school and they will enter through the office. Thank you for your cooperation.
Every Thursday is early release day. The kindergarten students will be released at 12:50 and grades 1-5 will be released at 1:00.
We have a no animal policy on campus. As cute as they are, please do not walk your dog on campus to drop off or pick up your child. This protects the students, the staff and you.
Students can not be checked out during the 30 minute window prior to the end of the school day. That means that students must be checked out by 2:00 p.m. on a typical school day and 12:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Health & Safety
Keeping our students and staff safe is a priority in Bonsall Unified. The beginning of the year will include:
If your student is sent home due to illness or close contact, they must be cleared through the office prior to being allowed back on campus. All students must be accompanied by an adult their first day back on campus. They will receive a pass clearing them to return to school.
We take student and staff health and safety very seriously. Please see the information below regarding safety protocol.
If you have questions regarding whether or not to send your child to school, please call the front office or email Brittany Wanzer, our health technician, for guidance.
