Wednesday, October 9, 2019

12:00-12:50PM, Alter Hall Auditorium (Room 031)

Please join us for the fourth installment of the Fall 2019 H. Wayne Snider Distinguished Guest Lecturer Series, as we host Jen McDonald (Class of 2003), Vice President at Merchant Insurance Solutions.

Jen graduated from the Risk & Insurance Management program in the Fox School of Business at Temple University in 2003, and is a past officer of Gamma Iota Sigma. Jen relocated to Tampa, Florida with the Travelers Insurance Company as a Middle Markets Property and Casualty Underwriter. After working for 10 years in various roles at Travelers, in 2013 her position was moved out of state.

Wanting to stay in Tampa, Jen took a leap of faith and began her journey as an entrepreneur as a property and casualty commercial insurance agent. At that time she became more active in her community, serving on the Board of Directors for Historic Hyde Park Neighborhood Association and eventually becoming President. She also became a member of the South Tampa Chamber of Commerce where she currently serves on the Board. She is currently the Chairwoman of the Hillsborough Community College Business Advisory Board and she is an ambassador for Working Women of Tampa Bay.

In 2019, due to her investments in the community and having built strong relationships with the local County Commissioners, she was appointed to the Hillsborough County Citizens Advisory Committee. She is a candidate for Hillsborough County Commission District 1 in the 2020 election. In her spare time Jen enjoys riding her beach cruiser on Bayshore Boulevard with her two Yorkies in the basket.

Dress for this event is casual. If you have any questions, please contact Varun Sivakumar, Sigma Chapter President (varun.sivakumar@temple.edu).
