Focus on the Arts for March
We think our students will really enjoy the March Focus on the Arts (FOTA) lessons! We have a focus on Women’s History Month with 2 of the lessons, we revisit the inspiration of Peter Reynolds, and we will learn about a cool type of dance called “Hiplet” (hint – it combines hip hop and ballet!). March materials were included in the February art packet sent home with blended students or picked up by remote/SHINE students. Please keep your FOTA art materials in a safe and accessible place so they are ready for their projects. Check out the new Virtual Gallery Link where students can post photos of their artistic creations - https://bit.ly/3nowmnG - or see what other students have created. Let’s fill this gallery with artwork from our amazing students – try it this month! Thank you to TOArts AccessArts and Conejo Schools Foundation (CSF) for sponsoring the 20-21 FOTA program!
Family Reading Night on TUESDAY at 6:30 p.m.!
During the last part of the hour, we will split into Breakout Rooms. Each room will be hosted by a staff member, who will share a story with the group. Just like in a normal year, participants are welcome to wear pajamas and bring a stuffed animal.

Family Engagement and SPSA Plan 2020-21
Walnut also updates its Family Engagement Plan each year. The School Site Council revised and approved this year's plan in October of 2020. Please see attachments below for a copy of the plan in English and Spanish. Feel free to reach out to Mrs. Wall if you have questions about either of these important documents.
