School of Hope - Hope Home Schooling March 2022
Principal's Message
March 1st, 2022
Good afternoon families,
The days are starting to get longer, and it's slowly starting to warm up - there is Hope! We are approaching Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Similar to Advent before Christmas, this is:
a time of self examination.
a time of quietly denying ourselves in small ways to empathize with others who suffer, and to prove to ourselves that our comfort is not the most important thing.
a time to consciously better ourselves and of getting closer to God by doing good works.
We will be culminating our Lenten journey with an Easter celebration as a school with an online liturgy before our Easter break next month.
This month, many of our students and parents will be receiving surveys. This provincial Pillar survey is the first of two surveys we ask you to complete in the year. The results of the surveys are examined by the province, but more importantly by our own school staff to see what our areas of strength are, and where we should strive to improve.
Please help us by taking the time to answer these surveys, it really helps us improve our school!
A reminder of the email you recently received announcing that our school re-registration process is open. We encourage you to fill in the forms to be ready for next year. We have done our best to make the process as simple and efficient as we can. If you have any friends thinking about possibly joining the School of Hope or Hope Homeschooling, they may be interested in one of our Zoom info sessions. A schedule is easily available from our website, so they can choose a session and find out more about our school and our programs!
Would like to draw your attention in this issue, to the special prayer Pope Francis has forwarded to us to pray for the people of Ukraine.
God Bless,
Michel Despins, Dwayne Coffey and Alicia Rudkowsky
