Newsletter Week 10 - Tuesday, 5th April, 2022
From the Principal's Desk
As we work through our final week of term I’m thankful for the great work from our teachers and the wonderful support from our CEWA personnel in assisting us to navigate through this Covid-19 period.
We complete the term this Friday that leads us into Holy Week beginning with Palm Sunday leading into Holy Thursday and Good Friday on 15th April. Easter Sunday falls right in the middle of the holiday break. For our families not going away for Easter, I have included the Holy Spirit Parish Easter Roster which lists all the scheduled Holy Week celebrations that you are most welcome to attend.
The Palm Sunday mass this Sunday traditionally begins down on the oval and processes up to the church. For many years our children have come in biblical costume and we would encourage our parish and school children to come along and be part of this very special opening to Holy Week. We gather at 9.00am on the oval and process up to the church for mass. Hope to see you there!
School resumes for term 2 on WEDNESDAY 27th April following the Anzac Day public holiday on Monday 25th and our day set aside for parent/ teacher interviews on Tuesday 26th April.
Natalie has sent all the information and booking details for the interviews through to you on SEQTA so please check this carefully and book a suitable time through the link provided.
Hopefully with a refreshing break and an easing of Covid restrictions for term two, we can look forward to a more ‘normal’ school term here at Holy Spirit. I have attached the latest Covid update that lists the easing of public health measures for term 2.
Thanks to all our office and admin staff for all their hard work and to all our teaching staff for their continued dedication and care. This week we bid farewell to one of our education assistant’s, Jane Parker. Jane has been a tremendous support for our teachers over many years. We thank her for all her hard work and wish Jane all the best in retirement.
The program that replaces Edu-Dance is known as “Footsteps” and begins on the Thursday of week one for our students in PP-Yr 6. Students can wear their sports uniforms on that day as well. (Guild or sports shirt)
Finally, a big vote of thanks to our students and parents who have been terrific here at school in what has been a challenging term. On behalf of all our staff I wish you all a very Happy Easter and an enjoyable term break. Looking forward to catching up again when school resumes for the students on Wednesday 27th April.

Please check you drawers and return any tops to Mary in the office.
