MSA Parent Update

October 7, 2020

There is a lot going on now that the school year is picking up!! Please check out everything that is going on at MSA:

Last Week of the Marking Period

October 9th is the last day in the marking period. Please make sure that your child is up-to-date on their work and that they are performing at their best level. Report card grades have an impact on the student's overall grade for the year. It is essential that every grade is as good as it can be!!

Online Grade Access

Don't forget that you have access to your child's grades through the Parent Portal. If you have not received the access information, please let us know, and if you have any questions about your child's performance in a class, contact your child's teacher early to avoid any surprises come report card time. Thanks!

Speed limit on campus

This is a friendly reminder that the speed limit on MSA's campus is 10 MPH. That is 24 hours a day. Thank you for adhering to this speed limit for your child's as well as all our students' safety!!

PM Parent Pickup Reminders

We want to send all parents a reminder that we do not have a PM child care program at MSA. All students who are not participating in an after-school activity must be picked up as close to dismissal time as possible. School ends at 2:55 (HS) 4:55 (MS), and we have students here up to an hour after school ends. This causes a huge problem for our staff and can cause a safety issue for our students. Please make sure you are picking up your children by 3:30 (HS) and 5:00 (MS).

Also, an important note about pick-up. Any student who is being picked up at dismissal must be picked up in our parent pick-up loop. Asking your child to walk off campus to get picked up causes problems for the community and the private businesses that are in the neighborhood. We have a great relationship with all of our neighbors in the community, and we want to keep it this way. All parents are expected to follow the school procedure for student pick up by waiting patiently in the parent pickup loop after school.

Another important note - students being picked up after an after school activity should be picked up at the school. Please do not ask your children to meet you off campus. This is a safety concern for your child.

Thank you for your attention to these important matters.
