Year 6

We also have to say farewell to an amazing group of children in Year 6. They are wonderful ambassadors for our school and we fully expect them to achieve great things in the future. We would all like to wish them the very best of luck.
Big picture

It is with great sadness that we need to say farewell to Mrs Roach today. She has made a real difference to the lives of our children and has been a valued member of our team. We wish her well in her future exploits. We are delighted that Mrs Pedley will remain with us in September, and look forward to two new members of staff joining our team - Mrs Goodrick in Willow, and Mrs Pollard at lunchtimes.

All staff and governors would like to thank parents and children for their support and hard work this year. Despite many bumps in the road, we have achieved a great deal together and our school continues to go from strength to strength. Our children are amazing and we are incredibly proud of how well they have achieved. We can’t wait to see them again in September!

Plans for September

We have issued a letter outlining our plans for September. We very much hope to be able to return to our normal ways of working, with the removal of our ‘bubble’ system. We will continue to be cautious about the risk of transmission and will maintain some cleaning and handwashing protocols. Children are expected to return to school on Tuesday 7th September, and we are really looking forward to seeing them refreshed and ready to learn in their new year groups then.

Our website now has new pages relating to safeguarding, which can be accessed from the main home page. These pages have useful information and guidance for parents, including how to keep your child safe at home. One of the resources relates to water safety, and this might be appropriate to share with your child at the start of the holidays.

Children in Maple Class would like to thank everyone for supporting their ‘mocktails’ enterprise project. They raised £95 through sales and have planned to spend this on last day pizza treats. Thank you!

Sports Day

Thank you to everyone who attended Sports Day. It was wonderful to have visitors on our site again, and we were pleased that we were able to manage this safely. Thank you for complying with our controls. We hope that everyone enjoyed the afternoon.

Eco Warriors

Our Eco Warriors have designed a new Eco Code for our school. This is: Turn off the lights; Always recycle paper; Don’t use too much electricity; Help us to attract more wildlife. This code will be introduced to classes from September and will form part of our ongoing environmental work.

Thank you!

Staff would like to thank everyone for their extremely kind gifts, cards and messages. We will certainly enjoy these during the holiday period!

School Lunches

Please see the new Autumn Lunch menu below.

Children can decide daily whether they are having a school dinner or packed lunch.

Please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like to order. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.

Each day there are now 4 choices, either the hot dinner, hot vegetarian option, jacket potato with a choice of toppings or a sandwich. The sandwich and jacket potato always come with a selection of vegetables/salad on the side and have the full pudding choice for that day.

Autumn 2021 Lunch Menu

From 8th September - 18 December. This is our new menu for September - children now have a vegetarian option to choose from as well as a jacket potato or a sandwich.
