**EACH TOPIC WILL BE OFFERED TWICE DAILY SO PLEASE CHOOSE A TIME THAT BEST MEETS YOUR SUMMER NEEDS - 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM OR 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM. Please make note of this as you sign up in My Learning Plan.
DAY 1 - (June 29th) Effective Module Building
We will explore the following...
- What is a module?
- How can a module help me organize content?
- How do I create a module?
- What resources should I include?
- How can I embed outside vendor content in my module?
- How can I include opportunities for students to collaborate in a module?
Time will be allotted for you to begin building modules that may be used with your students next year. Bring with you any planning materials that will support you with this. Please sign up for either the morning or afternoon session for today in My Learning Plan.
DAY 2 - (June 30th) Assessments
- What are different ways to assess students in Canvas?
- Do all my assessments have to be done in Canvas?
- How do I create a self-check quiz in Canvas?
- How do I upload previously created assessments into Canvas?
- What analytics are available in Canvas?
- How do I provide feedback to students quickly and efficiently in Canvas?

Day 3 - (July 1st) Collaborations & Commons
- What tools are available in Canvas that will foster collaboration (Peer to Peer &Teacher to Teacher)?
- How can I leverage video and audio tools to support all learners?
- What is Commons?
- How can Commons be used to share and borrow content with selected audiences?
Time will be allotted for you to begin collaborating and exploring Commons to share and import content into your course. Please sign up for either the morning or afternoon session for today in My Learning Plan.
Approximated Schedule for Each Session
- 30 Minutes - Overview of topic with examples and step-by-step models provided.
- 15 Minutes - Small group discussion- "How could this look in my environment? What do I need to get started?" *More modeling and tutorials will be shared here as needed.
- 60 Minutes - WORK TIME: Facilitators will support as you work independently or with your peers to create content in Canvas.
- 15 Minutes - Reflect and share progress.
