1. Don't text and drive
In 2011 1.3 million crashes were caused due to cell phones. You are 23 times more likely to crash if you text and drive. 52% of people have admitted to have been talking on the phone when driving.
2. Don't Drink and Drive
Over 20,000 people drunk drivers are pulled over each month. You lose your license immediately. Your car could get crushed or get in an accident. Also you risk getting your car impounded if you get pulled over from the police.
3. Don't Overspeed
Every mile you speed up your chance of an accident increases by 4-5 %. In 2008 31% of crashes were caused do to over speeding and 11,674 lives were lost in speeding related crashes.
4. Always wear your seat belt
Seat belts save lives. When your in a car accident it prevents you from being thrown around in the car. 70% of fatal car crashes between the ages of 13 to 15 weren't wearing seat belts. Always wear your seat belt it will save your life.
5. Be careful in bad weather
Be extra cautious when driving in rain, snow , ice or fog. Drive below the speed limit if necessary. Keep extra distance from the car in front of you. Only drive out in these bad conditions if you need to.
