News from the Classroom
5th Grade Class
We are studying Vertebrates and Invertebrates in Fifth Grade Science. We will be investigating Classification and creating Classification Keys! In English, we are currently working on a new Writing Unit. We will be writing Personal Narratives this week.
3rd Grade
Third graders just finished their unit on multiplication and division and continue to master those skills on a web-based program called Xtramath.org. On Valentine’s Day, students practiced their graphing skills with candy hearts. Students are learning about pronouns in grammar. In science, we are beginning our unit on the solar system. We will be reading Studies Weekly, a social studies magazine, to help us learn about how communities are formed. In Religion, we have been talking about Lent. Third graders were encouraged to give up something, do something nice, and pray for others.
First Fish Fry is February 22, 2013
Fish Fry Dinners
You are invited to our regular Friday Lenten Fish Fry dinners. These fish fry dinners are very important in funding the school. It is important that all families provide the necessary support to ensure the success. Last year we netted $9723.57 money is used for teacher reimbursement for supplies and school support. We would have netted more but had to cancel the fish fry March 2, 2012, because of weather. Our goal this year is to net $10,000.
A complete schedule of dates and classes responsible for workers is below and on Edline. Please note the date your class is responsible for working and ensure you sign up to help. You can e-mail Mr. Brever Kevin.brever@saintpaulschool.net for sign-up.
The Fish Fry Committee is composed school parents, parishioners and other parish organizations. The entire parish community is helping support this function.
All of us working together will ensure the financial success of these fish fry's and we will achieve our goal
