Team Excellence Back-To-School Info
RHE Staff Newsletter July 2019
Ready- Set- Teach!
School supplies are already on shelves and uniforms are on sale! It is almost time for Back-to-School! I am delighted that WE are beginning the 2019-2020 school year together. While teammates have changed, goals and our drive toward excellence remains. This school year is set to be an exciting one.
As I considered a campus theme, I was excited about the promise of Team Excellence. Without a strong team of staff members, it will be impossible to move our vision forward for the betterment of every scholar. However, when our teams are healthy, thriving and "on point," there is no stopping us or our students! Keep in mind that we have grade level, content, and even school-wide teams. More importantly, let us be dogmatic and intentional about building our classroom teams, so that every student feels safe and supported to score new goals. I am confident that we have the right team in place to move RHE ahead in teaching, learning and excelling, so that you love coming to work and our students love coming to school!
Please take a moment to view the information below as you enjoy the remaining weeks of your vacation and look ahead to 2019-2020. I am on campus and excited to answer any questions you may have.

My name is Keonaka Brown. I bring 7 years of experience to "Team Excellence". I completed my undergraduate studies at Texas Woman's University and continued my studies at Lamar University. I am a wife and mommy of two. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, shopping, and traveling. I am a returning member of "WEBO NATION" and excited about my new journey.
My name is Sharmetra Aubrey Lewis. I’ve physically been in education for 2 years, but have played the role as a youth mentor for more than 6 years. I started my journey as a special education inclusion aide at Houston Elementary, then transferred to Pleasant Run Elementary to continue fulfilling this role. I am the proud author of a middle school teen fiction, and adult non- fiction self-help book. I am excited to take on this role as RHE’s newest 1st grade team member.
Sensational Second Grade
Kandice Washington, Teacher
Danyale Pace is excited to be apart of the RHE family. Ms. Pace is a DFW native and graduate of the University of North Texas at Dallas. Ms. Pace's primary goal is to ensure that every encounter with a student is meaningful and lasting. This is her first year teaching 2nd grade and is excited to collaborate with everyone to ensure that each student has the opportunity to experience greatness. When she's not working with students at school, Ms. Pace tutors, performs in musicals at community theaters, and spends time with friends and family.

I am very excited to be teaching at Rolling Hills Elementary and I hope to positively influence all of my students to love learning. I am looking forward to a monumental year with Mr. Miller’s Magnificent 4th Grade Scholars and collaboratively working with my Rolling Hills colleagues to achieve fantastic feats.
Fierce Fifth Grade
Miesha Medford, Science Teacher
Jackie Anderson, Math, grew up in Brinkley, Arkansas where as a daughter of an elementary teacher and principal of the High School she spent a great deal of time in classrooms. That’s where she got her first taste of the world of teaching. She graduated from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and began her career in Garland ISD and now 20 years later she still savors the sweetness of educating children. She has been married for 23 years and has 4 children ages 19, 17, 15 and 12. She enjoys exercising and literally “running around” with her daughters as a track mom. She has a passion for teaching and working with children.

RHE Power Plays of Excellence
1.We build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents and the community. We treat everyone with respect, from the youngest scholar to the eldest. We are consistent and conscientious with communication to all stakeholders.
2. We are intentional about teamwork. We work together for the success of all.
3. We have high expectations for our students and ourselves. In order for students to achieve academically and behaviorally, we must give 100% every day, all day. No excuses! RHExcellence is what we do!
4. We follow the curriculum. Lessons, assignments, stations are TEK-aligned, well prepared, rigorous, relevant and engaging. No exceptions!
5. We consistently analyze data. Data reflects our reinforcements and areas of refinement for the benefit of student achievement.
6. We execute RHE Norms.
