Weekly Update
Dear Sorrick Families,
This week is Red Ribbon Week, which commemorates and encourages a drug free lifestyle and participation in drug prevention activities. For our youngest learners at Sorrick, we encourage them to make "safe and healthy" choices to support this mission. Each day this week we will have special activities to raise awareness for Red Ribbon Week. Below, you can view our scheduled Red Ribbon Week activities. Be sure to encourage your child to wear orange on Wednesday (Unity Day) to promote kindness, acceptance and inclusion in schools, communities and online.
Below, you will also find this week’s Social-Emotional Learning resources for families. The SEL topic of the week is understanding feelings. For our youngest learners, the inability to understand and make others aware of their feelings can lead to frustration. These resources are designed to help you teach your child how to identify their feelings, learn new feeling words and respond to these emotions in a socially appropriate way. I hope you find these resources beneficial!
