School Department Updates
SeeSaw with your Child's Special Classes!
QUEST Adventures w/ Mrs. Doherty
- First grade has been using Word to locate pictures to help them brainstorm ideas to build for Humpty Dumpty to keep him safe.
- Second grade is currently working on their individual designs for their windmills (which I am hoping) will provide the power for Fifth grade’s civil engineering unit that requires them to build a 3-dimensional community and light the structures through building circuits.
- Most third grades are finishing their Lego We-Do alligators and will move on to reptile research, creating their movie using the green screen app.
- Fourth grade has started the planning stage of their gravity cars and will begin building over the next few weeks.
- Sixth grade has been introduced to the pharaohs of Ancient Egypt and will begin to build their course for their Sphero’s to complete.
Any donations to the engineers of Buckingham are greatly appreciated; items like:
paper towel tubes, small boxes (think food boxes), wrapping paper tubes, or anything else you think kids might "build" with.
Lastly, I believe that anytime you can help bring the real world into the classroom benefits the student’s with learning opportunities - if you are an engineer and would like to come to speak to your child’s class please contact me at sdoherty@cbsd.org.
