Classroom Management Strategies for Difficult Students

We are 2 full months into school and you could possibly be thinking about those few students who just don't seem to be following the rules. In this article from AMLE, you will learn practical strategies you can use tomorrow for building relationships with difficult students. A great read!

Erik Palmer is Coming to MGMS Thursday

Do your students speak like this?

Yikes! Sadly, many of our students do. However, they can do better when taught how, and when given opportunities to practice.

Join Erik Palmer next Thursday, November 19th in the Maple Grove Middle School auditorium from 3:15-4:15.

You’ll learn more about the importance of teaching students to speak effectively, as well as specific lessons for doing this.

Don’t miss this incredible opportunity.

Reggie Dabbs: 7th and 8th Grade only

We have an exciting opportunity to have Reggie Dabbs come to our building on Friday, November 20th. Reggie is an excellent motivational speaker that I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to see in action with some of our students last year. He connects well with the kids by using various teaching techniques that have the students learning through movement, music and reflection. Participants will be moved from laughter, to tears, and back. Reggie takes on many difficult topics such as drugs, alcohol, and suicide in a caring and powerful manner. Please take a moment to read the attached biography! Also, this organization is providing T-Shirts for all staff that should arrive in the near future and I am asking that we wear them the day of the 20th.
