Note from Ms. Moulton
Happy new week, everyone! I hope that families are doing well as we move further into the spring. My note this week is small, but my appreciation for you and our teachers is abundant! We are doing amazing things in an extraordinary time. I know that many of us are beginning to wonder what the "new normal" of school might be. While we engage in a great deal of thinking and conversation, it is simply too soon to make predictions about the fall. Please trust that we will communicate as information is available.
We are working hard to begin to wrap up the current year by packing the building, preparing for the move and construction, and planning for end of year rituals and milestones. We are particularly planning for celebrating our fifth graders as they leave Hosmer and head to the middle school. Stay tuned. We are making plans!
PTO will host a virtual meeting next Wednesday, May 19th at 6:30. Please join us! The Chair of the Watertown School Committee, John Portz, will also be joining us.

Stay well, continue to be kind to yourselves, and please tell your children that we miss them and say hello. As always, thank you for your support of our fantastic school!
Morning Announcements! - Weekdays at 8:45am
It has been wonderful seeing so many students and families for Morning Announcements each morning at 8:45, right before classes begin. It is a great way to start our school day by being together even though we are not in the same place. Each day we celebrate birthdays, join in reciting the Paws Promise, and do some sort of fun activity together. To join, simply log in using the Zoom link below

I also continue to lead storytime on Facebook Live Fridays at 10:30.

Kindergarten Bean Packets are Still Available
Kindergarteners are studying plants! Over the next two weeks, kindergarten teachers will be sharing a bean dissection lesson and a seed germination lesson. Bean packets will be available for pick up during lunch pick up at Watertown High School on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 11-1, outside of the high school at the school nutrition lunch pick up located behind the high school in the staff parking lot right outside of the garage doors.
This is a safe way to get outside and pick up supplies to do science learning at home! Please email Elizabeth Kaplan, K-8 Math and Science Coordinator with any questions. email@example.com
If you pick up the seeds and do the lessons, take a picture and share it with your teacher or post on the Watertown School Gardens Facebook page.
We might not have been able to have our Band-A-Rama or MusicFest celebration this year, but we can still share our music with the community! The Watertown Public Schools Fine, Applied and Performing Arts department is teaming up with Friends of Watertown Music for a Virtual MusicFest that will serve as a wonderful way for students and local musicians to connect with our community through the power of music.
Start prepping your favorite piece and then use this form to submit a video so you can be a part of Virtual MusicFest! Videos will be posted on our soon to be created Virtual MusicFest webpage with a launch date in early June.
You will need a gmail account to access this form. If you do not have a gmail address and are unable to easily acquire one, please send an email to Ms. Slesinger at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will find an alternative way to join Virtual MusicFest.
Submission Deadline: May 27th

WHS Student Created Read Aloud Website
The Class of 2022 has organized an opportunity for high school students to read picture books to elementary school students during this unusual time. Our attempt is to help bring a sense of community among all students in Watertown, while away from school and having to learn remotely. The website currently has several submissions from high school students but will be updated regularly, as the high school students continue to submit their readings. We have also included an opportunity for students and the family to submit book requests and we will do our best to read all requests.
