Kelly Lake
Kelly Lake, a 367 acre lake located in Oconto County, is a great spot to bring your family any season of the year. Whether you rent/own a cottage on the lake, stay in Holt Park that sits right on the lake, or just come for the day, you will enjoy yourself. The lake averages at a depth of 14 feet, but the deepest it gets is 41 feet. Along the edge of the lake is soft sand perfect for day swimming. Wake hours are 10am to 6pm, long enough to enjoy yourself during the day but short enough to respect all lake dwellers in the early morning and late at night.
Fish
There are four common fish species in Kelly Lake. They include largemouth bass, northern pike, panfish, and walleye. People have been known to catch perch and bullheads as well. The Wisconsin DNR have stocked the lake with walleye in past years that keeps the population thriving. The fishing on Kelly Lake is not extremely strong but there are still opportunities. You are reminded to please practice catch and release here.

Clean Boats, Clean Waters
Clean Boats, Clean Waters is a group of volunteers as well as some DNR officials who inspect boats entering and leaving the lake. Just recently zebra mussels, a very invasive species, was reported in Kelly Lake. They latch onto the bottom of boats and once they are in a lake they are hard to get out. Zebra mussels are known to take resources away from native species. The Clean Boats, Clean Waters organization and volunteers are working hard to spot any unwanted species to help keep our lake clean. You can learn more or volunteer to help by clicking below.
Kelly Lake Boat Parade
The Fourth of July boat parade is held every year on Kelly Lake. Participants have two choices on what they want to decorate their boat as, either the theme for the year or patriotic. Judges vote for 1st through 3rd place in each category with trophies awarded as well as a monetary reward. Previous themes have been children's books, summer olympics, and fairy tales. It is fun for both participants and spectators during this awesome event.
Cardboard Boat Race
The Kelly Lake Advancement Association began the cardboard boat race only in the past couple years. It has been a big hit with the kids as well as a few adults. Many come out to watch the event to support the participants. There are winners in the three categories, timed event, Titanic award (best sink), and Captain's Choice award (best design).
Kelly Lake Triathalon
2016 will be the 6th year for the Kelly Lake Triathalon. Participants will swim 750 meters, 15,5 miles, and finish with a 5K around the lake. The 2015 event was on July 4th with 102 participants in the individual event and 18 teams in the relay event. This event is sponsored by many great groups, including the Rudy Project who offered many great raffle prizes for the competitors. Finishing a triathalon is very rewarding and is recommended for anyone interested!
