Mr. Macken's Message
Centerville Families,
I want to give a quick shout-out to our incredible CPTA! You all have been absolutely amazing, providing supplies for our fun activities and supporting our teachers with those fantastic conference meals. You truly make Centerville a school of excellence!
Also, a huge thanks for organizing the upcoming weekend school dance! It's happening tomorrow night from 6 - 8 pm, and it's for kids and parents alike. Spread the word! It's a family-friendly event where everyone can dance, mingle, and have a great time. And guess what? It's totally free! Donations are welcome, of course. Plus, there'll be a concession stand if the kiddos need a little snack.
So get ready to boogie—it's going to be a fantastic evening!
Go Cougars!
Mike Macken

In the classroom supporting our amazing CVE Teachers and for the Book Fair!
Why did you decide to volunteer at Centerville?

What is your favorite part about volunteering?
Getting to know the amazing Teachers, Staff and Students at CVE! I have never had so many hallway high-fives since I started volunteering and it’s a wonderful feeling.

Journaling can reinforce your child's reading and writing skills
Keeping a journal is an effective way to build reading and writing skills. But elementary schoolers aren't always enthusiastic about journaling. Try giving your child a notebook, a pen and some irresistible entry starters.
Here are some ideas:
• Write fan fiction. Encourage your child to write some- thing new about a favorite character.
• Write a silly poem. Challenge your child to craft a poem that uses fun combinations of words.
• Pass notes. Write a silly question in a notebook for your child to answer. Then, your child can write back and ask you something.
• Write for TV. Suggest that your child imagine a new episode of a favorite TV show.
Read and discuss your child's writing.Community Education

Centennial Preschool Registration Opens March 1
The Centennial School District offers high-quality part-day and full-day preschool experiences. Preschool classes are designed to prepare students, ages 3-5, and families for success in kindergarten, practicing both academic and social skills in a “learning-through-play” philosophy. Full-day classrooms are located at each of the elementary schools in the Centennial School District; part-day classrooms are at the Early Childhood Center. Our preschool has earned a 4 Star Parent Aware Rating. Registrations received between March 1 and March 22 will be included in the placement lottery. Registration will remain open after the lottery for remaining seats. Program and registration information can be found on the district’s website.
