Tell us about your family: I have a small but large Cuban family that mostly live in Florida. Most of the family before me immigrated to the US fleeing the island in the 1960s. As a way to advance and move up in society my grandparents and parents valued education and academics in part leading me to be a teacher today.
Can you share a time when you were a THINKER? As the odd-ball science person in my family I have always looked for ways to grow in my science knowledge. In college and beyond I have made it point to see and engage in science lectures. I have been able to see Neil deGrasse Tyson, Michio Kaku, Sally Ride, and Jane Goodall all in our local Arlington community.
What are your favorite fall activities? Spending time outside in cooler weather, wearing flannel, stargazing.
