DEADLINE TO ORDER LONG-SLEEVE GREY DAVID T-SHIRT IS THIS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22ND

A long-sleeve David t-shirt will be sold on a pre-order basis only until FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22ND, so order early! The shirts are $25.00 (Adult 2XL & 3XL will be an additional charge) and can be purchased through Membership Toolkit. Please note that the shirts are the same material and sizing as our fall short-sleeve David shirt. Unfortunately, due to pre-ordering, we will be unable to exchange sizes. We are anticipating that the shirts will be delivered right before the holiday break in December.

GENERATION TEXAS WEEK

This week, CISD and David Elementary are celebrating “Generation Texas Week.” We are talking about the importance of advanced education after high school and what we can do now to prepare. Our final two topics are:

Thursday: “Be the Best YOU Can Be!”

Another option that can help pay for college is the Military. Wear camo or military shirts as your teachers talk about options to pay for college (work study, grants, loans, scholarships) and the different service branches of military.

Friday: Career Day!

We will explore different careers as we discuss what’s ahead for our David Dolphins. Students and teachers can dress up as their career choice, wear a tie or a scarf. Parents will also be getting a Sign-Up Genius from your child’s teacher regarding career day opportunities.

CHILDREN IN SANTA'S DREAMS

The CISD Police Department would like to invite you to help make a child’s dream come true. We are collecting NEW unwrapped gifts for boys and girls of all ages to be wrapped and given to families who might not otherwise have a wonderful holiday without your assistance. Please send all gifts to David Elementary by Friday, December 6th. A bin is located in the main hallway next to the front office. If you have any questions, please contact the front office at 281-298-4700.

SPRING FEST T-SHIRT DESIGN CONTEST

Again this year, we will give our student population a chance to have their artwork as our official design on a t-shirt for the spring fundraiser. All entries are due to the front office by Friday, December 13th. Please see the flyer below for more specific instructions. The winner will have their design professionally copied on the computer by the screen printers’ artist. The winner will also receive a free Spring Fest t-shirt for his/herself, the teacher and the immediate family!

There will also be a semi-finalist winner from each grade level. Each semi-finalist will win 25 Spring Fest raffle/game tickets. If you have any questions, please contact Jessica DeVerse at djess214@gmail.com.

SPRING FEST PLANNING MEETING - TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10TH

There will be a Spring Fest Planning Meeting on Tuesday, December 10th, immediately following the PTO Meeting (approximately 10:30 - 10:45 am). We invite anyone interested in helping out or wanting more information to come. GIFTED AND TALENTED NOMINATIONS

Nominations are now open for the Conroe ISD Gifted and Talented program. Although the testing will not take place until February, nominations are accepted at this time. Nominations can be made by the parents and/or teachers. If you are interested in nominating your child, you may want to discuss this with your child’s teacher. Nominations will be accepted through December 18th. You may request a nomination form from the front office or if you have any questions, please call Veronica Kiesz at 281-298-4700. You can also find more GT information on the CISD GT homepage.

APPLE IPAD USB POWER ADAPTERS OR LIGHTNING CHARGING CABLES NEEDED

If you have any extra Apple iPad USB Power Adapters or Lightning Charging Cables, please consider donating them to David. We are in need of as many as possible, so even if you can only donate one of the pieces, we would greatly appreciate it! Pictures of the parts we are looking for are below:

LOST AND FOUND

Due to limited space, we donate all unclaimed lost and found items every couple of months. Our first donation day will be Friday, December 6, 2019. Please be sure all clothing items, water bottles and lunch kits are marked with your child’s name. Students and parents are encouraged to stop by to look for any missing items during lunch or before and after school.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION EXCITING NEWS

The online system for Box Tops will now allow you to scan your receipt and give credit to your child's class. You must, however, list your child's teacher along with the grade level. Please do not list your child's name on the app, just the teacher and grade level. Don't forget from now until December 31st, you can get double points by turning in the Box Tops and scanning your receipt to the Box Tops app.

Our winter Box Tops collection for the 2019-2020 year is underway. Participation is easy. Simply clip the Box Tops from participating products, place them in a Ziploc bag or envelope (labeled with your child’s teacher’s name and grade), and have your student drop them in the collection bin located near the front office. Please mark your calendar for our winter submission deadline, Friday, February 14, 2020.

If you have any questions, please contact Carly Jones or Jennifer Whitney at DavidPTOvendor@gmail.com. We will list the top two classes per grade level in the newsletter each week. Please note that the following numbers include both clipped Box Tops and on-line scans. Standings as of Friday, November 15th, are:
