Read Across America

Burnside students celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday in a week long celebration. Students participated in a Drop Everything and Read event and ate birthday cake. They dressed as their favorite book characters and paraded around the school. The week concluded with a RIF distribution in which over 500 books were given out.

Catching the Reading Spirit

On April 9th the Burnside family displayed their reading spirit by participating in a reading pep rally. Students performed cheers and watched a performance of Mo Willems' That is Not a Good Idea. Receiving new books during a RIF distribution topped off the exciting day!

Mrs. Turner was named Burnside's Tech Savvy Teacher!

The Burnside Media Center is the place to be for learning with technology. Whether it was kindergartners making text feature ebooks, first and second graders publishing poetry, or fifth graders creating movies, students have used technology as a tool for research and showcasing what they have learned, Check out this prezi created by a fourth grade student.
