Texas Education Agency State-Wide Definition for Pre-K-20 STEM Education
The Texas Education Agency has defined STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education as a method of hands-on teaching and learning where students learn to apply academic content by creatively solving real-world problems with innovative design-based thinking to prepare students for future career opportunities. This definition is aligned to the national STEM research as well as the 2018 federal definition for STEM education released in the executive report, Charting a Course for Success: America's Strategy for STEM Education.
