Principal Message
Ray Community,
Thank you to everyone who participated in our Story Book Character Day. We enjoyed seeing so many students, teachers and staff dressed as their favorite story book character. Shout out to our 5th grade team who transformed into Mario Kart.; they looked phenomenal! I have always loved an excuse to dress up and have some fun on campus.
I am excited to announce that this week some of our students partnered with VRHS FFA and CPHS wood working class to start on our garden rejuvenation. Our Rays, Rangers, and other student programs from around the district will be partnering to bring our garden and outdoor classroom back to life. VRHS FFA is kick starting this process with a garden clean up. The agricultural program at VRHS will then come over and work with our students to begin planting flowers, vegetables, and plants over the next few months. While this is occurring, CPHS wood working will be refurbishing our outdoor white board, repainting our storage shed and working to build benches that turn into tables for student use This will be a year long process but we are excited to partner with our greater LISD family.
Now that Adventure Dash has ended our PTA would like to gather community feedback around the program and fundraising. Click the orange bar labeled Community Feedback for Adventure Dash to provide your voice in which programs are used by PTA for fundraising in the future.
I want to remind families that students will get to enjoy a fall break on Monday and Tuesday while our teachers are attending professional learning opportunities at our Continuous Improvement Conference. We are excited to welcome all students back to campus on Wednesday November 8th.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
Alison Pennington
