WHAT IS THE ANGEL SCHOLARSHIP FUND?
ANGEL SCHOLARSHIP INVESTMENT IS BACK!
What is the Angel Scholarship Fund?
The Catholic Community Foundation has established The Angel Scholarship Fund as a Scholarship Granting Organization to support our Catholic schools and students in the Diocese of Cleveland. This fund makes it is possible to “turn tax dollars into tuition” by making a contribution to the Angel Scholarship Fund that may be eligible for a 100% tax credit on the donor’s State of Ohio income tax return.
Who benefits from this Scholarship Tax-Credit Program?
The program benefits Ohio Catholic schools and students by prioritizing scholarships for low-income families that seek higher-quality education opportunities for their children. It also offers taxpayers the ability to reduce their Ohio state tax liability by making a contribution to Scholarship Granting Organizations such as the Scholarship Granting Organization of the Catholic Community Foundation (“Angel Scholarship Fund”). This is a dollar-for-dollar tax credit against your tax liability, or the tax you owe to the State of Ohio.
What is Ohio’s new Scholarship Tax-Credit Program?
In 2021, the Ohio General Assembly established a new program whereby Ohioans can receive a 100% tax credit against Ohio income tax liability for contributions to certified organizations that grant scholarships to students, including those attending Catholic schools. The maximum credit amount is currently $750. If you are filing a joint return and both you and your spouse make eligible donations, each of you can claim this credit (up to $1,500 total).

Message From the Principal
Dear Saint Ambrose Catholic School Family,
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! Psalm 118
We are blessed!!! I thank God every day for the 700+ Angels, both young and older, who are part of our very special Saint Ambrose Catholic School. Thank YOU for allowing us the privilege of partnering with you to help our students grow in mind, body and spirit!
We work very hard to provide the highest quality faith and academic formation for your children, and for all families who want the same here at Saint Ambrose Catholic School. We are always working to make sure every child/family who wants to receive the blessing of an amazing Saint Ambrose School education and faith formation has the opportunity to be a part of our school community.
We are blessed, and I am thrilled, to share great news about the Angel Scholarship Fund. The State of Ohio, through the Angel Scholarship Fund, has made it possible for every State taxpayer to invest in a child in our school at no expense to the taxpayer. Our parish’s confidential Financial Aid Committee reviewed the financial aid applications for our current school year and two weeks ago awarded 19 families almost $50,000 in ASF financial aid. The Angel Scholarship Fund helps our families, students and school.
As you have heard, the real cost of educating each student at Saint Ambrose Catholic School is $6,709 per child. While the EdChoice Scholarship program allows every family to receive financial support, still more families are in need of support. We have also invested heavily this year in our school by providing 4 extra staff members for even greater academic support for our teachers and students. The Angel Scholarship Fund is helping our families in need and also allowing us to strengthen the education every child receives at Saint Ambrose School.
Here’s how the Angel Scholarship Fund works:
You and your extended family and friends make a donation to Saint Ambrose Catholic School via the Angel Scholarship Fund by December 31, 2023.
Donors receive a 100% Ohio income tax credit of up to $750 (or $1500 for married couples filing jointly) against their 2022 state tax liability.
In other words, the State of Ohio allows you to "spend" some of the state income taxes you must pay anyway to provide tuition assistance for Kindergarten-Grade 8 students seeking an education in our Saint Ambrose School. The Angel Scholarship Fund is a win-win-win for taxpayer donors, scholarship recipients, and our school!
All this, at no extra expense to you! Be an angel for our Angels!
Joyfully,
Lisa M. Cinadr

Message From Saint Ambrose Catholic School, Director of Development & Funding
Dear Angel Giving Family,
In this season of giving, consider making a year-end gift to Saint Ambrose Catholic School in gratitude for all the blessings you have received in life. As you plan to make the most of your charitable donations in 2023, know that you have the opportunity in the ANGEL SCHOLARSHIP FUND!
This past 2022-2023 school year many gracious donors helped to provide for our Angels through their generosity. Our school and parish community raised over $54,000 to help 19 of our school families by the investment they made to our school while also investing in this Oho Tax Credit Fund.
This year we are asking our community to come together to help raise $100,000 for our angels. by investing in our students and considering to help with this scholarship fund.
Through the Angel Scholarship Fund, you can now contribute funds that will be used to provide tuition assistance for students to attend our Catholic schools, and you will receive a 100% Ohio income tax credit of up to $750 against your 2023 state tax liability.
In other words, the state of Ohio allows you to "spend" some of the state income taxes you must pay anyway to provide tuition assistance for students seeking an education in our Catholic schools. The Angel Scholarship Fund is a win-win-win for taxpayer donors, scholarship recipients, and our diocese.
As we approach the end of the 2023 calendar year, our hope and prayer is for the number of ASF supporters to grow so that we may achieve even greater success. We encourage all Ohio taxpayers to consider making an ASF donation by December 31, 2023* that may be eligible for the state tax credit when filing a 2023 Ohio tax return.
Please BE AN ANGEL and consider investing TODAY!
We have over 700 reasons why to support our ANGELS! Make a donation today!
Graciously,
Michelle Brousek
