Important Announcement: No School for Students on January 28th & February 4th
Ram Family, as we continue to see a steady increase in positive COVID-19 cases, RPS is very concerned about sufficient staffing in our buildings. We want to keep our schools safely open for in-person learning for students. Many other school districts throughout the Metro are also experiencing challenges at every position that help our schools run safely.
As District leaders continue to work through options to address ongoing issues and keep the school year moving forward, the following changes have been made to the RPS school calendar.
• Friday, January 28th, and Friday, February 4th will be NO SCHOOL days for students. Lil’ and Tiny Rams will be open on these days. Our schools will remain open as these will be staff workdays. RPS will also continue with student activities and athletics at Ralston Middle School and Ralston High School. Scheduling details about specific activities and athletics will be communicated to families by each school. (As a District, we are always reviewing the health status of our school community and could potentially make other adjustments as necessary.)
A lot of thought and discussion takes place when making these decisions. We do not make these decisions lightly and appreciate your support as we continue to navigate through these difficult times. By putting these extra measures in place, we hope to keep adequately staffing our schools and safely serving our students.
Report Cards Now Available on R-Kids
Report cards for kindergarten through twelfth-grade students for the second-quarter are currently available to view on R-KIDS. You can access R-Kids by clicking on this LINK. As a reminder, report cards are only available on R-Kids and are no longer being printed.
If you are having trouble accessing your R-Kids account, please contact your student’s school for assistance.
Important Health Reminders
Currently, the COVID-19 virus is very prevalent in our nation and community. As a school community, it is important to keep the lines of communication open between home and school. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY:
If your student is COVID-19 positive or is ill and needs to stay home, you need to call your student’s school and let them know.
IF YOUR STUDENT IS SICK, HAVE THEM STAY HOME:
If your child is not feeling well, keep them at home.
TALKING WITH YOUR STUDENTS DAILY:
Visit with your student(s) each morning about their health status. Make this a morning routine you and your student(s) do every day.

Ram Recognition
Each week in Ram Recognition, Ralston Public Schools will highlight some good news happening across the District.
Mockingbird Elementary Students Receive Special Gift
Thanks to the generosity of the employees and viewers of KMTV Channel 3 and through a partnership with Scholastic Books, every Mockingbird Elementary student was able to select four free books to take home from a book fair held yesterday at the school. This was made possible through donations to the Scripps Howard Foundation’s “If You Give a Child a Book” campaign by KMTV (Scripps Media) employees and station viewers.
A total of 1,851 books were donated to Mockingbird Elementary! RPS is extremely lucky to have such amazing community partners! #RamProud
RHS Class of 2026 Introduced to Ralston High School
Ralston High School students and staff were excited to welcome students and families of the Class of 2026 to the school for a Pre-Registration and Orientation Night. To start the night, students and families attended a program where they heard about the school’s incredible programs and opportunities.
They were also able to meet with staff members and received a tour of the school. On the tour, RHS staff and students set up interactive displays in classrooms, allowing the future students to experience the Ram programs and opportunities in person.
We are excited to officially welcome you to Ram Nation next fall! #RamProud
