Ideas for October
October Read Aloud and Book Talk Recommendations

R.L. Stine's Birthday
October 8th is R.L. Stine's birthday. His Goosebumps books are a favorite in many libraries. Stine has a fun WEBSITE to share with students. His ABOUT page has an interactive Q & A with the author, and on his RAINY NIGHT THEATER page, he narrates spooky stories (radio style). His guide to creepy classroom activities can be found HERE.
Flashlight Reading in the Library
Jessica Smith from New Bridge shared a great incentive idea. Throughout October, classes will earn the chance to read in the library with flashlights. Spooooky fun!
Polkémon... Gotta READ them all
You may not know the difference between Bulbasaur and Charmander, but what a perfect theme for Polk's library!
A "polk-é-ball" hovers over a book display.
Polkémon sign welcomes students to the library.
Chansey announces that the library is open!
The Game's afoot at Taylor Canyon
Taylor Canyon students are invited to explore mysteries when they enter the library. From Dot and Jabber to Sherlock Holmes, there's something for everyone.
STAY TUNED...MORE TO COME.
