Super exciting Southside Volunteer opportunities!
Calling All Tiger Connections – Parents, Grandparents, Retired Teachers, Neighbors, and Friends of Southside:
Help us create a buzz about learning!
Do you tinker with cars and trucks? Are you an expert on the farm-to-table movement? Do you have a passion for financial literacy? Have an interest in teaching basic piano or pottery or yoga? Maybe you speak another language! Maybe you’re an entrepreneur! We need your expertise and passion!
Southside 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will have the opportunity to schedule an elective course on Friday mornings as a reward for their hard work on academics and great behavior during the week. These courses will begin on November 3rd and run for 6 weeks. In order to make groups small and highly engaging, we need volunteers to teach a course that interests them!
Sound like fun to you? Please consider helping us with this new venture in igniting passion for learning in our students. We promise you will be equally enriched by your time spent with our future leaders!
Email our Assistant Principal, Krista Mornar at: mailto:krista.mornar@shelby.kyschools.us or call school to talk with her if you have any interest in helping us or if she can answer any questions that might help you say “yes”!
Office Volunteer: If you have some time during the week that you would be able to volunteer in the office please let us know! We ask that it be a consistent day and time so that office staff can plan. Please email Beth Cathcart at: mailto:beth.cathcart@shelby.kyschools.us to sign up!
As always...You must be an Approved Volunteer through SCPS to volunteer with students and in the office. If you have questions about your volunteer status please contact Beth Cathcart at: mailto:beth.cathcart@shelby.kyschools.us
