Big picture

Lots of laughs at the show 'Red Riding Robyn Hood' yesterday, presented by NZ Playhouse group. If you haven't already paid for this show ($4.50), it will be added to your school account.

Crazy Hair / Go Crazy Mufti Day - Thursday 9th August $2 donation please to go to KidsCan NZ

Uniform Shirts

After much travelling around the country our new shirts have arrived and will be given to children today. They may be worn on Friday but MUST be worn on Monday! A huge thank you to the PTA who have generously donated one shirt per child.

Some families have ordered extra shirts. Most orders will be filled. There is however, a shortfall in some sizes, which are on backorder. Once the next stock arrives the PTA should have a reasonable stock of all sizes. In the meantime children will be able to wear their sky blue polo shirt as an alternative until the end of term.

Sport

This term we have a rugby team entered in the McLeod Shield competition, an interschool competition for Yr 7 & 8 and a Hurlstone Cup netball team, again for Yr 7 & 8. This year the TRFU are trying a new format with games being played on two set days for rugby and one day for netball. This will make the scheduling of games and travel so much easier! The first McLeod Shield day is next week - Thursday 16th August in NP at the racecourse from 10.30am. The second day would be on 30th August, probably in Hawera.

The Hurlstone Cup will be at NP on 21st August. More information and permission slips will be sent home to those involved.

Thank you to Brendan Haami for coaching the rugby team. The netball team is coached by Miss Dravitzki.

We are entering a girls team in a 7s rugby tournament to be played in Stratford on 23rd August. We have combined with Toko, Huiakama and Makahu to ensure we have enough girls to take the field! Again, thank you to Brendan for coaching this team.

Reminder: School closed 15th August due to Teacher Strike
