Please click on the form below to sign your kids up to attend PACE. Students can sign up for one activity per day.
If you need to make any changes, please contact Tyler (crawfort@platteco.k12.mo.us).
CHARACTER STRONG FAMILY DARES
Every week students go through a Character Strong lesson that help build on our 8 traits: honesty, forgiveness, commitment, kindness, humility, selflessness, patience, and respect. Starting shortly students will be asked to complete a Student Character Dare. These are to help build on practices that are taught in our weekly lesson. Some dares can be as simple as asking someone new to join their table to reaching out to someone students look up to and writing them a letter.
We are encouraging each family to complete the monthly Family Dare. Each Family Dare offers parents, guardians, and families the opportunity to engage in challenges designed to increase connection and conversation at home. These dares also provide students with more opportunities to practice habits discussed in class.
January's Family Dare is: Lyrical Conversation
If you take a picture of your family completing the dare, please send pictures to Amy Gardner at gardnera@platteco.k12.mo.us. She will post pictures on Social Media and we can showcase them on our TV's at school.
8th Grade Families: PCHS Curriculum & Expo Night Jan. 18
PCHS is planning an 8th grade student and parent night on January 18, 2023, 6:00pm in PCHS's Wilson Auditorium. The purpose of Curriculum Night is to allow you to learn about each core class (English language arts, math, science, and social studies) from the department's perspective. This night will also include an Electives and Extra-curricular Expo with representatives from a variety of elective offerings and clubs. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held virtually.
We encourage both the student (current 8th graders) and parent(s) to attend, so that all can receive the information about courses offered at Platte County High School. This will greatly assist you and your student in the planning process and in course selection for the 2023-24 school year. If you would like more information, please contact your student's counselor: Amanda Griffin, Barry Counselor.

2023-24 Academic Calendar Draft
Teachers, support staff, and parents on the calendar committee developed a proposed academic calendar for the 2023-24 school year. The draft was formulated based on required student hours, teacher contract days, historical parent and staff survey data, parent and staff feedback regarding PLC days, as well as consideration of the alignment with other Northland districts from a programming perspective. Based on feedback, the draft calendar has the first day of school on August 22, the last day of school on May 22, and potential makeup days are planned for May 23, 24, and 28-31. It is important to note this calendar makes a shift from 2-hour early release days for Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to full-day Professional Learning Days. The change in approach will provide teachers with more efficient and focused time for professional development, while reducing the number of days parents have to find day care alternatives for their children. Public review of the draft calendar occurs from December 16, 2022 to January 9, 2023. Comments may be emailed to Vicki Diggs. The Board will vote on approval of the calendar at the January board meeting.
❄️ Winter Weather Information
Click here for information on school cancellations/modifications due to inclement weather, how the District will notify parents, as well as information on recess, Y Club, and Inclement Weather Virtual Learning Days. As a reminder, PCR-3 will implement traditional inclement weather days (no school and no virtual learning), until we reach a threshold that would push the school year past Memorial Day. We will make those days up per our academic calendar, and if we go past our planned make-up days for inclement weather, we will implement our Inclement Weather Virtual Learning Days.
Field Trip Parent Volunteer Procedures
We have some field trip information that is starting to be sent home. If you would like to be a parent volunteer for any of our trips, we're asking that parents be scanned through our Hall Pass system prior to the field trip. This scan can be done by coming up to the main office a few days prior to the field trip and once you are in the system, it will be good for the whole semester.
Thank you for your cooperation in maintaining our safe and caring environment!
