Venetia Valley Voice
School / Family Newsletter - February 2022
Principal's Message
February is upon us and it is National Black History Month! While the contributions the African American community has had in America should be celebrated everyday of every month; this month we get to highlight the contributions and leadership of the Black community as a way to bring awareness and voice for those that have been historically silenced and unrecognized for their greatness. I am excited to share that at Venetia Valley, our staff have activities planned for our Falcons that will recognize the accomplishments, contributions and leadership of our fellow African American people. It is our hope that this will be an opportunity for our community to learn to appreciate and respect all that the Black community has contributed to our society today and teach our students how great we are as a community united.
Be on the look out for specific information from your child's teacher regarding the activities taking place in their classrooms this month. If you haven't signed up to receive our messages from ParentSquare, now is a great time as ever to enroll. If you need help, contact our Community Liaison Ms. Pilar Sanchez or our Family Center Director, Ms. Sheila Ramirez. All can be reached at 415-492-3150.
Stay safe and be kind to each other. After all, you are your child's first role model. Wishing you all a great month with great health.
In Partnership,
Principal Quesada

Message from our Family / Community Liaison
VV Families,
My name is Pilar Sanchez. I am the Community Liaison. Of all the jobs that I do at VV, I have an extra one in that is near and dear to my heart. That is the school garden. I do it with a lot of love for nature! I want to see our community use the garden again before the end of the school year but we need your help. I would like to start weeding, cleaning out trash, and creating a plan for the next garden day.
I invite you to come and clean our garden on Saturday February 12th, from 9-12pm.
Please bring your own gardening supplies as ours are limited.
Pilar Sanchez

Family Center Update
Dear Venetia Valley Families,
We are pleased to introduce our new Family Advocate, Ms. Kristal Garcia! Here is a brief introduction from her:
Hello, my name is Kristal Garcia! I have a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management and I'm very passionate about working with people. I also love being outdoors and spending time with my 4-year-old son. I have worked for Venetia Valley already for three years prior to this position and attended school here from Kindergarten through to 8th grade. I know this community and see it as a second home and I'm very excited to be able to work on a closer one on one level with the families here. I truly believe that we all have a purpose in this life and while I still search for mine, I find joy in the little moments with other people and hearing their stories. My goal has always been to bring even the smallest amount of joy to each person I meet, and I hope to bring that same liveliness into this position as your family advocate.
With Kindness,
Kristal Garcia
