A Note from the Interim Principal
I hope you enjoyed a restful long weekend!
As we begin to gear up for Catholic Schools Week and Open House in a couple of weeks, we would like to also invite our alumni to return to campus for these events. As a way of honoring those who have walked these halls and graduated from our school, the Hornet Herald will periodically highlight an alum. In this issue, Casey Chambers will be our honored Hornet. Please scroll down to learn more about Casey. If you have news you want to share about a HFCS graduate, please e-mail me at vtucker@hfsfw.org.
Have a wonderful week!
Blessings,
Veronica Tucker

A Note from Nurse Reeder
Dear Holy Family Catholic School Parents,
As we continue in the cold/flu season, I wanted to send a reminder of what we can all do to help keep our children healthy. Please remind them to cover their coughs and sneezes, wash their hands or use hand sanitizer frequently (especially before eating or after using the restroom), avoid touching their eyes, nose, or mouth, refrain from eating or drinking after others and avoid close contact with others who are sick. And it is certainly not too late to get a flu shot! Healthy lifestyle habits such as eating healthy food, drinking adquate amounts of water, getting plenty of sleep and regular exercise also help a lot in illness prevention. Below are the Diocesan guidelines about when students should stay home and when they are ready to return to school following an illness.
I hope this is helpful!

Parent/Family Service Hour Requirement
During a school year, each family is responsible for completing thirty (30) service hours. All hours must be logged in RenWeb. Over the next few weeks please take some time to make sure that your hours are up to date. If you are in need of hours, the Pot O’Gold chairs are always looking for assistance. Send an email to hfcspog2016@gmail.com. On April 1, 2016 service hours will be checked. At this time, a monetary fee will be assessed at the rate of $10 per hour for every hour below the required thirty. The total fee assessed will be adjusted for all service hours completed and recorded in RenWeb subsequent to this date. Final report cards and records will be withheld for any amounts outstanding at May 27, 2016.

New to the Pot O' Gold - The Wine Pull!
Get in the "spirit" with a donation of a bottle of wine for the Wine Pull that will be held at the Pot O' Gold!
What is a Wine Pull, you ask? Pot O’ Gold attendees will be able to purchase and choose a bottle of wine from the donations we receive. The fun part of the event is they do not know what kind of wine they are choosing because the bottles are all wrapped the same!
We are asking for a donation of a bottle of wine worth $15.00 or greater. All wine must be received by Wednesday, February 3rd. You may drop it off at the school office.
If you have any questions or would like to donate, please contact Maria Orand at 817-676-6711.
St. Alice / Holy Family Alumni

The POG committee will be sending out special invitations to all alumni. Please feel free to share this message with friends and family.
