Forward Exam

Just a reminder that students in 3rd, 4th & 5th grade will be taking the Wisconsin Forward Exam March 20th - March 29th. Please try to avoid scheduling appointments during this time.

World Down Syndrome Day

We are lucky enough to have a few amazing students with Down Syndrome at Hadfield who continue to amaze and inspire everyday! Help us recognize them and all the amazing individuals with Down Syndrome on World Down Syndrome Day- Wednesday, March 21st. Bring a dollar in to your homeroom teacher and wear crazy socks to help bring awareness to this amazing cause. All the money we collect will be donated to the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin, which is an organization that provides support to families and individuals with Down Syndrome in Wisconsin.

Chuck E Cheese PTO Fundraiser Night

PTO is hosting a fundraiser at Chuck E Cheese on Friday March 23rd from 3:00pm - 9:00pm. Hadfield PTO will receive 20% of total sales from this event. Students, family and friends are encourage to attend this event. Click on the link for more information.

Early Release - Thursday March 29th

The last early release day is Thursday March 29th. Students will be dismissed at 1:40pm.

Students that ride the school bus home will be picked up from Hadfield at 1:40pm. Boys and Girls Club will start at 1:40pm and students can be picked up at their usual times as Boys and Girls Club is open until 6:00pm.

All other students will need to be picked up at 1:40pm.

Innovation Day - March 29th

Hadfield is planning an Innovation Day on Thursday March 29th. Students will be rotating to a variety of stations with their buddy class to create, build, problem solve and be with other students in the Hadifeld community.

We are in need of several items to make this day successful. If you have any of these items please send them to school with your child - empty cereal boxes and empty paper towel/toilet paper rolls.

No School - Spring Break

Spring Break begins on Friday March 30th through Friday April 6th. Classes will resume on Monday April 9th. Enjoy your time off!

Hadfield Family Bingo Night

SHAPE America recommends school-age children accumulate at least 60 minutes and

up to several hours of physical activity per day. Each bout of physical activity should be

followed by cool-down stretches that help reduce soreness and avoid injury. Happy exercising!

Open Enrollment

Wisconsin’s inter-district public school open enrollment program allows parents to apply for their children to attend school districts other than the one in which they live. The open enrollment application period for the 2018-2019 school year is open from

February 5 - April 30, 2018. The application period closes at 4:00 p.m. on April 30, 2018. Late applications will not be accepted for any reason.

Parents may apply in one of two ways:

• On-line at https://apps4.dpi.wi.gov/Opal2012

• Paper Applications - Although an on-line application is recommended, paper applications can be obtained from the

Department of Public Instruction or any school district. Paper applications must be delivered to the nonresident school

district. School District of Waukesha applications should be submitted to:

Who needs to complete this process:

• Students currently attending a Waukesha school via Tuition Waiver for the 2017-2018 school year.

• Students who have changed residency to a non-Waukesha address between September 1st and February 4th.

• Students planning to move into an address that is outside of the School District of Waukesha between February 5,

2018 and September 1, 2018; and wish to stay in the School District of Waukesha.

Note: families that move unexpectedly after April 30th can complete a Tuition Waiver form for the following year.
