Main Information
Snow Leopards are closely related to Lions and Tigers. Snow Leopards mostly live in the mountain ranges of Central Asia from the northwestern part of China to Tibet and also the Himalayas. They usually like to eat wild sheep, wild boar, hares, mice, deer, and marmots. They are mostly solitary for most of the year but, when it is mating season they come together. They are able to move with their very powerful legs and are able to jump about 50 feet.
Size and Weight
The Snow Leopard can get up to about four to five feet long and can be about 60 to 120 pounds.
Endangered Status
The Snow Leopard is endangered because of poaching. They are poached illegally for their fur for coats.
