Thank you, Orion!
Orion and his family got us a Barnes and Nobles gift card!! This week I ordered FIFTEEN new Non Fiction books for our classroom!! Our 2nd graders will be SO excited when they arrive next week.
Thank you so much to the Long family!
Very Important Information:
1. Homework packet due 3/04
It is uploaded to FSAconnect in your child's READING section. This is a REVIEW for our Unit Test in Reading/ELA this week. Please make sure your students take their time to help prepare for the Unit Test. NO Math homework and NO Study Island assigned this week.... if your students would like to go on and practice the skills they feel they need for our Unit Test, please do so! However, the packet should be a great review.
2. Cultures Around the World Project Coming Home TODAY
We are so excited to start our culture study in Social Studies! Today... your students picked a country out of a basket for their culture project. Coming home with your child's Homework Packet is their project description and rubric. Please read through the description and let me know if you have any questions about this project. I cannot WAIT for our Cultures Around the World presentations.
These projects are due Friday, March 25th!

Dr. Seuss Day is Coming!
On Wednesday, March 2nd PreK-3rd grade students will be celebrating one of our favorite authors with so many fun learning activities! Part of celebrating Dr. Seuss is to celebrate his LOVE for reading. One of our rotations on Dr. Seuss day will consist of the students "Reading Across America" to earn a certificate in honor of their support for Dr. Seuss' love for learning and reading. The teachers have planned the activities, acquired the needed materials, and now we need your help to volunteer your time to make this day run smoothly! We have time slots available from 8-10 am, 11-12 pm (Lunch Duty), and 12-3 pm. Please click on the link below if you are able to come volunteer for this special day!

Also..... Our classroom will be turned into a complete reading oasis, full of comfortable areas for students to relax and read during that rotation. In order to create this reading oasis... I need your help! If you have comfortable bean bag chairs, pillows, body pillows, blankets, ANY items to help create a space for students to comfortably read.... please email me - these items will be used on Wednesday, March 2nd and then returned to their owner after Dr. Seuss day! If you have something we will be able to use, let me know and I will respond to your email with more details! :)
Another item we need to make our reading oasis...... LOTS of Dr. Seuss books! I have a stack in my classroom, but I would love to have more for students to choose from while they visit our room. If you have Seuss books at home that we could borrow for the day, please let me know! I will make sure they are LABELED with your name so I can return them after Dr. Seuss day.
Thank you for your help in making Dr. Seuss day EXTRA special for our elementary students!
