A Message from Miss David
Dear parents and caregivers,
What a challenging yet wonderful year it has been for all of us. It has been a pleasure to get to know and teach your children this year and I am going to miss them all very much. We have become like a little family, always supporting each other and cheering each other on. I appreciate all the effort your children have put into their learning and I am so proud of their growth. Thank you for all your support this year. Happy holidays and have a great new year.
Kind regards,
Miss David
Take a look inside our classroom to see what we've been learning about during Semester 2
English
Students spent this term learning about Aboriginal history and culture by reading several Dreaming stories. After building on our knowledge of Aboriginal Dreaming stories, we then picked an Australian animal to write and illustrate a a Dreaming story picture book about. We really enjoyed getting to publish our books and share them with other students in the class.
Working with Sphero robots
This term, students have been engaging in STEAM-based lessons and using Sphero programmable robots to complete fun and engaging tasks. Students have really enjoyed getting to drive and program the robots.
FAIR Sports Day
This year, due to COVID-19, Fair Day looked a little different as there were no rides. Students had plenty of fun engaging in different sporting activities and working as a team.
Book Week
Book Week also looked a little different this year and we didn't have our usual parade, but we still got to dress up!
Crazy Hat/Hair Day
Students had a lot of fun wearing a crazy hat or wearing their hair in a crazy style.
Outdoor Learning Day
Students enjoyed a lovely day learning outdoors and completing several different activities. We made water rafts, read books about nature and discussed how to protect the Earth, engaged in fitness activities, and we created art works out of things we found in the environment.
Door Display
We worked extremely hard as a class to draw several different characters for our "Where's Wally?" door. We invited other students from Year 3 to come and have a go finding Wally. We even won a bunch of prizes for best door in Stage 2!
Junior Cricket
This year, I was the junior cricket coach for PSSA. A lot of students in 3D joined and we got to have so much fun working as a team! We practised weekly, played against other schools and won every game. We were Top of the Table Champions and received a medal for this.
