From Our PTO President...
Happy 2019!
I’m thrilled to welcome in the new year and would like to update all parents and staff about an exciting change to the PTO Spring fundraising activity. If you’ve been at North Pointe in the past, you should know about our Hustle for the Heart fundraiser. We have been very successful in past years raising money for playground equipment and literacy supplies through our major Hustle for the Heart campaign. Unfortunately, the time and manpower to organize and run this event have become more challenging over the years and has gotten to the point that we would not be able to put on a top-notch event for our students.
With this in mind, the PTO Board has decided to team up with an organization called StepItUp! to help us create an outstanding fitness fundraiser for our school. We will have a kick-off event in February with all the students to introduce the fundraising piece and how they can participate and win prizes. All kids who participate will receive a gift and be entered to win prizes (like an iPad!) in the days immediately after the kick-off as well as during the Day of Awesomeness on April 10th. The Day of Awesomeness is a fitness day that will include multiple inflatable obstacle courses to simulate American Ninja Warrior and Wipeout as well as a dance party and a prize wheel to spin to win amazing prizes, not to mention a cash grab booth! The more money your student raises, the more prize-winning opportunities (s)he will have.
We can’t wait to see the kids’ faces when they hear about this event and know they will be talking about the Day of Awesomeness as one of their favorite events this year. As always, our goal is to support our students and our school and we think the organization will knock it out the park this year.
I’m happy to hear from you and look forward to putting on an amazing fundraising event for North Pointe this spring.

Chorus Auditions
Dear NP Families,
Our choir auditions went really well last week. We had 33 students audition! I apologize for the short notice reminder about auditions. I sent home the choir brochure back in September that included information about Honor Choir Auditions on Wednesday, January 9. I've attached a copy of that brochure. It also includes other important information about choir.
I want to be sure that all students who wanted to participate have the opportunity to audition, so I am extending auditions to Wednesday, January 16. All students who already auditioned last week are invited to come back Wednesday as well as any other 4th or 5th grader who may want to audition. All students who are staying after school for auditions will need to go to the auditorium with car riders and wait to be dismissed to the music room. Students should be picked up in the car line.
Thank you,
Mrs. Locke
