Daylight Savings Time ends at 2 a.m. this Sunday, November 3rd. Enjoy an extra hour of rest on Sunday and be ready for an excellent week of school on Monday!

November 4th: LifeTouch Picture Retakes

If your child was absent on Picture Day or if you'd like to have your child's picture retaken, this is your opportunity! Individual picture packets have gone home with students who had their picture taken October 3rd.


You can order today on mylifetouch.com using your Picture Day ID: CG319035Y1.


If you ordered class pictures, they will be going home today. If you still want to purchase a class picture, we have a limited supply in the office available for $11 (exact cash or check made out to LifeTouch please).

November 7th, 6-8 p.m.: Join Us for an Exciting, Thought Provoking Evening of School Accountability Committee (SAC) Training

Our Superintendent, Dr. Michael Thomas, will be speaking about the Strategic Plan moving into the Academic Master Plan, and the role the SAC will play in that work.


Mr. Jeff Veley, a national motivational speaker, will give an important presentation you will not want to miss on "Resilience Education for Bullying Prevention."


This exciting evening is open to all parents and community members. Middle and high school students are encouraged to attend. Child care will be provided for children ages preschool to 12 years old.


Location: Tesla Professional Development Center Auditorium at 2560 International Circle.

Monday, November 11th at 8:10 a.m.: Veteran's Day Celebration: Honoring All Veterans and Active Duty Service Members

Buena Vista will be honoring Veteran's Day during the morning of Monday, November 11th. We welcome you to join us in singing patriotic songs, listening to stories, and sharing small tokens of appreciation with our Veterans.


Plan to arrive at the school no later than 8:10 a.m., as the program will begin promptly at 8:15.


Please pass this information along to any friends or family who would like to come and help us celebrate all our Veterans and active duty service members.

Tuesday, November 12th, starting at 8 a.m.: PTA/SAC Meetings in the Cottage

All parents and guardians are welcome to attend!


You will find these meetings interesting, informative, and a great time to connect with other Buena Vista parents! These PTA and School Accountability Committee (also known as A Second Cup of Coffee) meetings are excellent opportunities for parents to get involved at Buena Vista!

November 25-29: Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving Break is Monday, November 25th through Friday, November 29th. We hope this is a special time for your family!

Your child’s report card is available now on Q ParentConnection!

Please go to the ParentConnection application login at https://d11connect.d11.org/ParentPortal. You will need your PIN and password. If you do not know your PIN and password, click on the “Need Your Login Information?” link, enter your email address, and you will receive an email containing your PIN and password. After you have logged in, click on your child's picture. Then click on "Marks" (left side of the screen), and "Quarter 1 2019-2020" (you can click on "Click Here" to print). If you need assistance with your PIN and/or password, please call the office at 719-328-4100.

November lunch menus are here!

While they are no longer available from the district as before, they are now printable on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of paper (see link below). There are also a few available in the school office for your convenience. Please know that the menu is subject to change, especially during weeks where we have had a snow day. Please feel free to call the office if you would like an update on any day's lunch menu and we will be happy to help you with that!

North Middle School offers interested students the opportunity to tour during a school day, visiting both academic and elective classes as well as computer labs, the media center, and more!
