"The Big Shake" Earthquake Drill - Date Change

Dear Parents,

As you know, WeHo Elementary is participating in THE BIG SHAKE!

Tomorrow, October 15, millions of Californians will participate in the largest earthquake drill ever! Why? Major earthquakes can and will happen anywhere you work, live or travel in CA. But, when only seconds count, you want to take quake-safe actions. For those who are volunteering, the drill will be at 11am.

Family Movie Night on October 16th

Family Movie Night at West Hollywood Elementary is scheduled to take place on October 16th at 5:30pm. We're going to watch "The Book of Life". It may be chilly at night so please remember to bring jackets, blankets, chairs and come join other families for fun of movie watching under the starts. Movie is projected on a giant outdoor inflatable screen. We will have food trucks: Grilled cheese truck, Borders Grill, Dogtown and of course CVT ice cream.

4th and 5th Grades will sell popcorn, water and other fun treats. The proceeds will help support Sacramento and Catalina trips. Spirit Wear will also be for sale.

Parking: We can park at London or Le Montrose for a flat rate, or please check with the office for free parking permits. Hope we can all make it to the movie night! :)

Halloween

Parade will start promptly at 12:30pm. Kids should bring lunch as the schedule will be adjusted.

Kids should not come to school in costume. Costumes should be in a bag labeled with the student's name and please no weapons - swords, guns, etc. There will also not be much time to get into costume so please avoid elaborate hair or makeup for the parade. Students whose parents are not attending the parade and who are in after-school care should report to their programs after the parade and they will go with their groups to the carnival. The different after-school programs will be on the upper yard with signs. All after-school programs will walk around and sweep up the "wanderers" on campus if they normally attend STAR, Boys & Girls, or YS.

Parents who are not attending the carnival can send money with their children in an envelope labeled with their names. There will be pizza, popcorn, water, bake sale items, crafts and games.

We need some parent volunteers to help out during the day. If you would like to volunteer at help at Halloween Event please sign up here.
