School Meals Update
2022-2023
Returning to post-pandemic meal procedures
With the school meals program returning to pre-pandemic operations, here are a few reminders about the program:
All the waivers from the USDA allowing us to serve meals for free to all students have been canceled, therefore meals are being served based on eligibility: Free, Reduced, or Paying.
In order to qualify for meal benefits, you must fill out a free and reduced application OR qualify for SNAP, TCA, or Medicaid. Once you have completed these steps you will receive a letter from the Food & Nutrition department informing you of your meal status. You can check your student's benefit status by reaching out to the Food & Nutrition office.
If you qualify for Free or Reduced meals your student is eligible to receive a FREE breakfast and FREE lunch each school day.
If you do not qualify for benefits the cost for meals is $1.50 for breakfast and $2.90 for lunch.
Snacks are available a la carte at most schools and are an additional cost for all students regardless of their meal benefit status.
A student may select up to 4 items for a breakfast and up to 5 items for a lunch.
If you have any questions regarding the school meals program, please feel free to reach out to the Food & Nutrition Department at (410) 996-6257.
